PUTRAJAYA (21JAN) Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has called on organisers of this Saturday’s “Rakyat Benci Rasuah” (The People Reject Corruption) assembly to adhere to the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.

Speaking at the International Asia Security Summit and Expo 2025, Saifuddin stressed the shared responsibility of organisers, participants, and the police to ensure a peaceful and orderly gathering.

“The police’s role is to facilitate assemblies within the boundaries of the law,” he stated.

The Jan 25 assembly follows a recent student-led protest in Sabah against corruption. The minister reiterated the Act’s purpose: safeguarding public rights to peaceful assembly without compromising public order.
