Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s recent visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has deepened ties between Malaysia and the UAE, particularly through a meeting with UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in energy, food security, technology, and data centers, aligning with the sustainable development goals of both nations.

Anwar, invited by Sheikh Mohammed, attended the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2025, where he participated in dialogues on ASEAN’s interconnected future, reflecting Malaysia’s 2025 ASEAN chairmanship theme, “Inclusivity and Sustainability.”

A significant milestone of the visit is the signing of the Malaysia-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), paving the way for strengthened trade and investment. Anwar also attended key events like the Zayed Sustainability Prize Awards and the Youth 4 Sustainability forum before departing for the UK.
