KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 3 – Bursa Malaysia rebounded, with the FBM KLCI rising 3.4 points to 1,557.03 after US President Donald Trump paused proposed tariffs on Mexico and Canada.

Despite this relief, market sentiment remains cautious over a potential US-China trade war. Investors are shifting to safe-haven assets like gold, which has surged past USD2,800 per ounce.

Meanwhile, Trump’s 10% tariff on Chinese rubber gloves is expected to benefit Malaysian glove manufacturers, boosting their stock prices.

Analysts predict further volatility, but some investors see opportunities in construction stocks, particularly those linked to the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) and data centre developments.
