PETALING JAYA: Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh is preparing to issue a letter of demand to Perak PAS chief Razman Zakaria over allegedly defamatory claims he made linking her to the YTL Corporation Bhd conglomerate.
Razman had falsely referred to Yeoh as the “daughter of YTL” and a “rich man’s daughter” in a recent speech. While he later apologised for the remarks, Yeoh pointed out that other defamatory allegations were made during the same speech.
“Slander cannot be normalized, especially among religious figures,” Yeoh stated on X, adding that legal action is necessary.
Razman accused the media of sensationalizing his remarks, claiming that coverage unfairly highlighted a 10-second clip while ignoring broader issues discussed during the PAS event, which attracted over 5,000 delegates.
