Demi mencari keselamatan dan peluang ekonomi, ramai telah berhijrah ke negara jiran Thailand. Namun, bukannya mendapat perlindungan, sebahagian daripada mereka berdepan eksploitasi, kerja paksa dan pemerdagangan manusia.<\/p><p>Selepas rampasan kuasa, tentera Myanmar yang dikenali sebagai Tatmadaw telah mempergiatkan tindakan keras terhadap penunjuk perasaan pro-demokrasi, sekali gus mencetuskan ketakutan dan perpindahan besar-besaran. Laporan menunjukkan bahawa ramai lelaki muda dikerah secara paksa untuk berperang menentang kumpulan penentang, dengan anggota tentera dan pihak berkuasa tempatan menculik individu dari rumah dan jalanan. Situasi ini mendorong ramai melarikan diri merentasi sempadan.<\/p><p>Sebaik tiba di Thailand, migran ini sering menjadi mangsa rangkaian pemerdagangan manusia. Sindiket jenayah mengambil kesempatan terhadap status mereka yang terdedah, dengan memancing mereka melalui janji pekerjaan sah.
