PETALING JAYA: The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) announced positive uptake of its e-invoicing system, with 17,000 taxpayers now actively using the platform, generating over 137 million e-invoices.
As of yesterday, 7,000 taxpayers had joined under Phase 11, with 4,900 from Phase III voluntarily adopting the system ahead of schedule.
“This growing participation demonstrates increased understanding and acceptance of the e-invoice system among taxpayers,” LHDN stated.
Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) earning below RM150,000 annually, numbering about 700,000, are exempt from issuing e-invoices.
The government has introduced a six-month transition period, allowing taxpayers to issue consolidated e-invoices for monthly sales transactions without penalties.
Launched on August 1 last year for businesses with an annual turnover exceeding RM100 million, the system will expand to all businesses by July 1.
LHDN highlighted its commitment to streamlining tax processes and enhancing efficiency.
