KUALA LUMPUR (20 JAN 2025) Malaysia has officially invited Indonesia to participate in the 2025 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2025), marking a step forward in regional defence cooperation.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin extended the invitation to his Indonesian counterpart, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, during a meeting at Wisma Pertahanan on Monday. The Defence Ministry highlighted the meeting as a testament to both nations’ commitment to fostering regional peace and stability.
The 17th edition of LIMA is scheduled from May 20 to 24, 2025, in Langkawi. The meeting also covered regional security, the upcoming ASEAN Chairmanship, and the 44th Malaysia-Indonesia General Border Committee.
Khaled congratulated Sjamsoeddin on his appointment and expressed confidence in Indonesia’s leadership under President Prabowo Subianto. The event concluded with a ceremonial guard of honour, symbolizing the strong ties between the two nations.
