The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for continuous heavy rain across parts of Sarawak, Sabah, and Johor starting Thursday, January 16.
Affected areas in Sarawak include Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Song and Kapit), and Bintulu, where rainfall is expected from January 16 to 18.
In Sabah, heavy rain is predicted in the West Coast (Ranau and Kota Belud), Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran, and Sandakan), and Kudat from January 16 to 17.
Meanwhile, Johor areas such as Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru are expected to experience continuous rain from January 17 to 19.
Residents in these regions are advised to stay alert for possible floods and take necessary precautions.
