KUALA LUMPUR (20 JAN 2025) Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing security efforts but brings pressing ethical and governance challenges, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

Speaking at the Asia International Security Summit and Expo 2025 (AISSE2025) at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre, he hailed AI as a “game changer” in security operations.

“From predictive analytics to advanced surveillance, AI can detect threats faster and with greater precision,” Saifuddin emphasized. “However, it also raises critical ethical issues we must address collectively.”

The minister highlighted the expo’s role in advancing ASEAN’s vision of resilience and prosperity, focusing on sustainable industries and stronger regional cooperation in ICT and cybersecurity.

AISSE2025 brings together experts and innovators to explore the transformative potential of AI in security while addressing its challenges, offering a roadmap for balancing technology and ethics in a rapidly evolving landscape.
