Kuala Lumpur – The Yang di-Pertuan Agong has urged the government to speed up digitalisation efforts to make services more efficient while also warning Malaysians to stay alert against rising online scams and fake news spreading on social media.
His Majesty expressed deep concern over the increasing number of cybercrimes, especially financial scams and misinformation campaigns that could harm national security and social unity. He stressed the importance of stricter enforcement to tackle these issues and protect the public.
The King also highlighted the need for people to be more cautious when dealing with online transactions and information. He advised Malaysians to verify facts before believing or sharing anything they see on social media, as falling for scams or false news could have serious consequences.
On government efficiency, His Majesty called for a shift towards a more digital and transparent system. He noted that excessive bureaucracy slows down processes and frustrates citizens, urging authorities to streamline services and remove unnecessary red tape.
By embracing digitalisation, the King explained, Malaysia could improve productivity, reduce corruption, and make government services more accessible. Technology-driven solutions would help ensure faster and more reliable assistance for the people.
His call for action comes as Malaysia continues to push for digital transformation in various sectors. With technology advancing rapidly, the King’s message reinforces the need for the country to adapt and modernize to stay ahead.
